JAMAICAN CALL?

The former Manchester United youth team product Ravel Morrison has said that he is thinking about the prospect of representing Jamaica rather than the England national team. The 19-year-old has the opportunity to play for both nations, but it is thought that he will be choosing Jamaica over the England national team despite representing the English at the under 18 levels. The West Ham United youngster is currently on loan at Birmingham city and he has impressed everyone during his loan spell at the club. He has been known for his bad behaviour on and off the field, but he has learned to make himself a much better player in recent months.

Morrison was thought of as the next big thing to come from the United academy since the days of Paul Scholes. However, a number of legal problems and troubles off the pitch meant that the club did not take a lot of effort in keeping him. As a result, he joined West ham on a free transfer a few seasons ago, but has found first-team opportunities limited at the club. He recently joined Birmingham on a season long loan deal hoping to get some first-team action. He has helped the club keep afloat in the Championship table despite their financial troubles by scoring one goal in 13 appearances.

“Should I go play for Jamaica hmmm… Thinking time. In 2 minds,” revealed the player on his Twitter account. Meanwhile, the assistant manager at the club Terry McDermott has said that he expects the 19-year-old to go on to bigger and better things in the future. “He’s got the ability to go right to the top and he will do if he listens to the right people, like the manager and the coaching staff. We’ve all helped him but we know there’s more to come,” said McDermott.
