Manchester United man Jesse Lingard has been a real shining light at the ongoing 2018 World Cup. In the two games England have won, Lingard has been very instrumental. His goal against Panama – a brilliant 20-yard curler – showed class, and afterwards when he was subbed for Fabian Delph, the player was caught on camera juggling a rolled-up ball of socks which fans found sweet.
The player who used to be unsure of his abilities coming from the United academy has grown into a world class confident player. He admitted that under David Moyes when he first joined the first team in the pre-season tour of 2013, he was very nervous and felt it was “too early” for him. However, he has grown overtime to become the player he is now, bossing FIFA World Cup finals.
